About The Janie (Harvey)Hill Family Tree
This is the David Jarrett Family Tree:
David Jarrett (Garret, Jarrett, Gireit) Latest history 5/29/06
The evidence we now have shows clearly that our David lived in what is now
Berks Co. Pa. The records show that David Jarrett ( born: 1712) and his wife
Margaret had 1733 Land Grant of 100 acres on Owatin Creek, about a mile north
of US hwy.422 and three miles east of Reading Pa. He also owned 100 acres on
Allegheny Creek in Robeson Twp where he lived , died in 1761. This was a land
patent for 100 acres in 1744 recorded in patent book A Vol 10 page 47 of
Phil.Co. There is a record of a David Jarrett owning 150 acres next to a John
Jarrett born c1695 d.1755 (m/ Anna Maria). This was a 1738 land patent. It was
located in what is now the town of Macungie, Northhampton Co. Pa.
I have copies of all three surveys and old maps to verify the locations. We
have no record at this time of a family relationship between John and David and
we have yet to find another David Jarrett of this age. So this is very strong
evidence that our David is that one next to John in Macungie. David Jarrett
would have to be 21 and a British citizen (that could include Scotland ) when
he received the 1933 Patent, so his birth would have to be 1712 or sooner. The
Quaker records show David's Daughter Mary to have been born 01/08/1732. This
also would verify the possible birth date of David. It was not required for
citizens to be listed on the immigration records, so we have yet to find any
of these Jarrett's on ships list. The record of the formation of Exeter Twp. In
1750, shows all the land owners in that Twp. David's parcel is E-47. The farm
next to him was owned by Squire Boone, father of Daniel Boone. (Squire Boone
also owned land next to David in Robenson Twp.) Today the Exeter land is a
restored historical exhibit and Daniel Boone Lake is just at the eastern end of
David's farm...The farm just to the north belong to Benjamin Boone, brother of
Squire.
The Boones's left in 1752 and David did not own that land on the 1770 map. The
state of Pa. now owns 500 acres in that area including the farm of David and
it is all part of the Homestead exhibit. Daniel Boone was born 1733. This makes
him in the same age group as Jesse, & John and about seven years older than
David Jacob. This gives credit to the stories that Daniel was at Jarrett's Fort
on the Greenbrier river at Wolf Creek near Alderson.
more to come,
